Bodycon dresses can look quite tacky if we’re not careful, let’s be frank. The fit of the cheap material hugging certain areas of our body a bit too tightly can come across unflattering and just… meh. Tasteless.
As I’m getting older my style is definitely evolving. I guess you could say that comes with maturing. But when you have a babyface like me and people mistake you for being 5 years younger, you might want to try “dressing up”. I’ve been liking bodycon dresses that are less tight, but still classed as bodycon because of how it fits. I’ll give you one guess as to where I found this dress (lol). Labelled as a Lace 3/4 Sleeve Bodycon Dress, I was intrigued for a few reasons. Firstly, the sleeves and the collar! They’re just different – it’s not long sleeve and it’s not short sleeve, you know. (I got my long giraffe neck from my parents 😂 and I quite like wearing high neck/turtle neck pieces). Secondly, there is actually room to breathe but it still hugs the body in a flattering way. If you’re like me and sometimes get an unwelcome food-baby after eating, this is perfect. Thirdly, it is the lace material. It just took the dress up a level for me – combining modern elegance with a classic material/print.
My shoes are an interesting take on the perspex trend (which I’m not actually a fan of lol, I thought it wasn’t going to make a comeback, but I guess fashion constantly recycles itself). But I can’t resist a good pair of pointy heels! They are actually rose gold in some lights and gold in others. Caution warning: not very comfortable to wear for long periods.
